Olympia Steel Buildings VS Pole Barns

Superior to pole barns and pole buildings manufactured by our competitors, Olympia Steel Buildings are made with the best quality steel that lasts you for a long time. Please review the quality and features we put into our steel pole barns and pole buildings.

Roof

Olympia Steel Buildings Pole Barns
  • Our pole barn kits consist of maintenance-free AZ55 Galvalume®
  • AZ55 consists of 55% aluminum, 44% zinc and 1% silicon
  • More resistant to rust
  • 35-year rust through perforation warranty on AZ55 Glavalume® roof panels
  • If a hole develops in a panel, the steel mill will replace it
  • Galvalume keeps its luster so you'll never have to paint or maintain the roof of your pole building
  • Our pole barn competitors only offer a 15 year guarantee
  • They only use a zinc coating that eventually will oxidize, fade then rust
  • Some only use AZ50 that can only provide you with a 20 year warranty

Fasteners

Olympia Steel Buildings Pole Barns
  • Made of stainless steel which is made with 18 parts chrome and 8 parts nickel
  • They won't rust
  • Includes a lifetime warranty
  • The fasteners must be compatible with the AZ55 or AZ50 because the steel mill will not warranty the pole barn roof if they're incompatible
  • Will not turn dark, black or tarnish
  • The pole building will retain its beauty for a lifetime
  • Our competitors only use a long lasting alloy head, which doesn't rust, but will tarnish turning dark gray or black
  • The roof loses its luster and beauty

Roof Panels

Olympia Steel Buildings Pole Barns
  • Our pole barn roof panels are made of steel consisting of an 80 yield, 26 gauge AZ55 Galvalume
  • Our roof sheeting has a 1½" depth in our corrugation, which adds strength
  • The panel overlap goes all the way to the bottom of the corrugation and along the bottom like a reversed "L"
  • This prevents water from backing up through the overlap into the pole building
  • The design of this overlap looks like the letter "Z" resembling the purlins on the roof which join the rafters together in the pole barn
  • Bending and cracking is prevented in the roof sheeting due to the tremendous strength of the purlin braced roof
  • Other companies use 29 gauge steel on the roof, which is lighter than our 26 gauge steel, and only a 5/8" depth of corrugation that does not provide extra strength required for the roof
  • Our competitors use an 'R' panel roof, which means the sheeting only overlaps one third of the way into the corrugation. This doesn't prevent leakage as well as the reverse 'L' design that Olympia uses because the water will back up into the pole building

Paint

Olympia Steel Buildings Pole Barns
  • Our paint has a 40 year warranty against chipping, cracking, peeling and blistering
  • The paint is a baked-on polyester paint so that it maintains its color and beauty
  • Our competitors only warranty the roof for 10, 15 or 20 years

Girts and Purlins

Olympia Steel Buildings Pole Barns
  • Our purlins are the 8" Z's and 16 gauge beams that join the rafters together
  • Our girts, are the 16 gauge 8" beams that join the columns together
  • They have a zinc-galvanized coating which protects them from corrosion and unsightly rust
  • Other manufacturers use wooden girts and purlins which will bow or bend causing screws to loosen, sheets to flap and leaks to occur

Frames

Olympia Steel Buildings Pole Barns
  • Consist of plate steel and H beam construction
  • No wood is used on the building so no warping will occur
  • No risk of fire or termites and insurance premiums will be less expensive than it would be for wooden pole barn
  • The truss does not have a cord going across which means there is complete open space
  • Birds cannot perch and defecate on the equipment and machinery inside saving money on maintenance
  • Wooden frames will eventually warp over time
  • They're a fire hazard
  • They could get eaten or damaged by termites and other insects
  • Insurance premiums will be higher for wooden pole barns
  • Other manufacturers use a cord going across the truss width causing loss of space
  • Birds can perch on the cord and defecate on the stored items in the pole barn
