Aircraft Hanger in South Cariboo

This great hangar at the South Cariboo Regional Airport is generating much interest. Utilizing the Higher Power bifold door was an important factor for the client and as such we designed and engineered the building to ensure long-lasting functionality with minimal maintenance. The large windows placed high on the endwalls provide great cascading natural light during the day. We owe much gratitude to the entire team collaborating to bring this project to fruition. Client, design, engineering, erector, insulation and door manufacturers worked with Raffi Simonian to ensure a smooth process and a great looking hangar. Tintina Air – Whitehorse, YT

Tintina Air was erected in Whitehorse, YT by Cardinal Contracting. The hangar was delivered with all the extra’s, equipped with interior liner panel, an interior mezzanine, bi-fold door and multiple customer entrances. The final product speaks for itself and Olympia and it’s client couldn’t be more pleased.

Airplane Hangar/Airport in Edmonton, AB

This modern 17,110 sq. ft. freestanding commercial hangar with two-storey office situated at the Villeneuve Airport has two private bays of 7,571 sq. ft., plus mezzanine storage area, an impressive 65′ doors in each bay that allows a variety of plane sizes and models to fit and be stored.

Villeneuve Airport is easily accessible off Yellowhead Highway 16 – only a 20 minute drive from Edmonton’s West End.

Aircraft Hangar for Fort St. John, BC

This personal hangar is one of many erected in the past few years connecting northern BC to Yukon and the North West Territories. This particular hangar has an offset peak with an 80′ full partition wall. The building is heavily insulated in the 80′ x 125′ section and measures 140 feet in width and 125 feet in length. A 12′ x 20′ boiler room was included off the northwest corner and the bifold door measures 70′ x 20′. Tim Mielke and the crew from TDM General Contracting were responsible for erecting another successful superstructure for Olympia. Designed by Chief Estimator George Zakhem with the help of the good folks at Prophet Muskwa Outfitters.

Sakku – First Air Hangar Building, Rankin Inlet, NU

The First Air Hanger Building was a design/build commercial project. It is 25,000 square ft – over five times larger than the proposed Airport Equipment Parking Shelter, and was leased to Calm Air.

The exterior footprint is 200′ wide (west and east elevation), 150′ deep (north and south elevation) with a bi-fold door height of no less than 30′ and overall height of 40′.

The building houses two ATR 42 aircraft. It provides a rotorcraft bay (25′ width x 30′ height) on the southeast corner of the building with consideration for future needs.

The building also accommodates a shop measuring 100′ x 50′ in the northeast corner with a 9′ ceiling and structural mezzanine.

For prolonged durability, the building included a 26-gauge panel liner (Arctic White) installed from floor to ceiling on all interior walls. It was constructed with 300mm x 900mm, 30 MPa grade beams on steel piles. The floors of such buildings have been constructed of 30 MPa concrete 200mm thick with 100mm high impact rigid foam insulation, with structural steel framing utilizing columns, roof beams and bracing.

Industrial Building in Edmonton, AB

This building was sold to a company named AeroMag, which is an airport services provider. The building is 100′ x 160′ x 25′ with multiple partitions, three mezzanines and fire rated walls.

Aircraft Hangar in Muskoka, ON

Heli Muskoka, offering tours and airlifting services throughout the Muskoka’s purchased an Olympia Hangar designed by George Zakhem, equipped with a Canadian manufactured Thermostop door with a movable mullion. This door has economical advantages compared to the traditional hangar door with an emphasis on design and built for safety and reliability.
